Transparent water-proofing based on aliphatic polyurethane.

IMPERLATEX PU INCOLORO

Transparent water-proofing based on aliphatic polyurethane.

  • Excellent durability.
  • High cracking resistance.
  • Completely transparent and colourless.
  • Optimum outdoor resistance.
  •  Monocomponent.

Imperlatex PU Incoloro is a low viscosity waterproofing nanocomponent, transparent and solvent based, based on 100% aliphatic polyurethane resin of high gloss and durability, designed to waterproof all types of vertical or horizontal surfaces, both indoors and outdoors. Once applied, it generates a totally continuous water-resistant membrane with excellent adhesion and optimal elasticity.

In addition, it has the following characteristics:

  •  Absolute waterproofing, resisting even permanent contact, being suitable for waterproofing planters or
    ornamental fountains.
  •  Hydrolysis and solar radiation resistance, strongly recommended for outdoor use.
  • Resistant to microorganisms and bacteria attack, not degraded by the action of the latter in shady areas.
  •  Permeable to water vapour, allows the surface to breathe, its use does not cause condensation problems.
  • Total resistance to detergents, household cleaners and acid rain.
  • Optimal adhesion on all types of absorbent surfaces.
  • Controlled elasticity, allowing transit without risk of breakage or cracking.
  • Excellent abrasion resistance.
  • High filling capacity of cracks, joints and pores. Its low viscosity formulation allows the product to penetrate the
cracks, joints and pores filling them completely.

Application Areas

Especially recommended for carrying out all types of waterproofing work where a completely transparent product is desired. These qualities make it suitable for use on decks, terraces, rooftops, walls, planters, etc.

Mode of Application

Being a ready to use product, it does not need to be diluted before applying. The use of solvents can dramatically reduce membrane adhesion and durability.

The surface must be completely clean, dry, hardened and free from other membranes or contaminants that can reduce the service life of the membrane, such as dust, moss or salt efflorescence. It is also recommended that the surface does not contain cracks or holes greater than 1 mm. In low/no absorption surfaces it is recommended to perform and adhesion-promoting treatment using Microprimer.

The following procedure is recommended:

a). Absorbent surfaces, (burnt clay, rustic tile, Catalan tile.. etc.):
  1.  Thoroughly clean the surface. Select the type of cleaner according to the existing dirt: (Limfa for efflorescence, moss
and verdigris, Neogras Forte for oil stains or pollution).
  2.  Allow the surface to dry completely and fill/repair damage such as joints, cracks or holes.
  3. Apply a first layer dissolved in Disol (3 parts Imperlatex PU Incoloro: 1 part Disol), using a short hair roller, brush or
    airless sprayer
  4.  Allow to dry for 6-8 hours and apply a second coat to obtain the desired yield and thickness.
  5.  Allow the product to dry until it is completely cross-linked. (The drying process is dependent on ambient humidity and
temperature. It is recommended to protect the application from the weather and condensation during the first 24-36
hours). The membrane acquires its maximum resistance 7 days after application. During this time it is recommended
not to wet it or walk on the same.
b). Non-absorbent surface, (glazed ceramics, porcelain tiles, polished stone… etc.):
  3.  Prime the surface with Microprimer at about 40-50 m2
/L and allow to dry for a maximum of 15-30 minutes.
  4. Apply two coats, using a short hair roller, brush or airless sprayer, allowing 6-8 hours drying time between coats.
